As a laborer at Apex Plumbing, you'll play a vital role in our employee-owned underground wet utility company. You'll work alongside a dedicated team to ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Properly carry out duties assigned by the crew leader or supervisors.
• Perform all necessary tasks to assist the crew leader in efficiently completing jobs.
• Quality Standards:
• Maintain Apex quality standards, indicating a commitment to delivering work at a specified level of quality.
• Marking Sprinklers: Clearly mark the locations of sprinkler systems.
• Returning Landscape: Ensure the landscape is returned to its original condition after completing tasks.
• Responsible for job site clean-up, indicating a commitment to leaving the work area in a neat and organized state.
• Assist with hand digging trenches, highlighting a hands-on involvement in the installation process.
• Safety Awareness:
  • Proper material placement.
  • Proper use of tools.
  • Proper use of safety equipment.
  • Awareness of potential hazards.
  • Responsible for complying with all state, federal, OSHA, and Apex Plumbing Inc. health and safety standards.
• Properly install materials according to guidelines or specifications.
• Signal equipment operator to ensure safe and proper excavation, indicating collaboration with machinery operators.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

• No minimum education required
• Training or experience in specialty areas such as wet utilities, concrete, asphalt preferred, but not required
• Able to operate as well as maintain mechanical equipment and tools is preferred, but not required
• Must possess and maintain a current Driver’s License 
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
• Receive classroom and on-the-job training attentively and work to expand your knowledge and experience. Apply the same on the job

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
